Let’s talk work/life balance;
Is it ok to not be, ok? If we were ever taught anything by the pandemic it was time is precious and family and friends are important and being stuck in a job/career that’s not for us, is painful and causes us problems we didn’t see before like stress, illness, sadness. So, work / life balance it’s important we understand it.
What if we did what we loved?
Careers Fairs
Boring ‘ell, instantly these two words can take me back to the 80’s, a small area (possibly an old cupboard) where you could find some poor soul trying their best to inspire you for the future right?
I go to these today to grow our brand awareness to inspire, answer questions. They’re still painful, and dull however the opportunity for a young person now is amazing! You can engineer anything, you can volunteer, you can make a difference, you can make anything you desire, make it happen and turn it into a business! In my day (truly was a while ago now) it was office admin, hair, doctor that’s it. A levels or college. Crimes, bop my head now with the motivation.
Now you literally can do what you want!! When you want!! 16, 69, 40 you do you!!
Let’s not be an elf left on the shelf
You may be doing what you love, like me I love it, I struggle to find a balance, because I get enjoyment from it all. But education is good to us in a different form. What about other courses, what about a photography course to picture my kids, and catch the memories, what about something to refresh me, like you’re not getting any younger Samantha maybe your memory isn’t what it was, has beauty moved on, do you need CPD? Might be you know all you need to know but you need more friends, or a different vocation, different interaction. Training does this, it lifts us, refreshes the mind, excites us. I never came away from a course and thought well that was awful, I won’t mention that, and I’ll be a worse person/therapist because of it.
As an employer, those staff you invest in you see that pick me up, that grateful, beaming person come back from training, that only adds benefit to your environment, customers, and business. So why are there so many people not investing in their staff or worse in themselves?
Looking after you, gives you the best version of you!
You know I’m right!!
Who hasn’t experienced career/job/personal, mental, or physical burn out in some form? And how did you get out of that? You took a step back, you looked after you and became a better version of you, with a new focus.
A breakup, we cry, we drink we get the hair do and we go again, I’m right aren’t I ha ha. So put the oxygen mask on yourselves, before you help others, when the planes going down, you can’t help anyone if you’ve run out of oxygen!!
The industries, the world, it’s changing, and we have to follow or full behind
It’s finally happening, 2024 the JCC are finally getting their regulations for the beauty industry in order. It’s annoying isn’t it there’s so many out there dangerous practicing with no qualifications, and we’re picking up the pieces.
Well not anymore, YEY!
Get the accredited course, from an awarding body, you’ll thank me when the insurances must follow the rules too. You don’t want to have to redo all those courses again, and worse pay for it.
Invest time in you, it’s your time, do what you want.
Top level customer care, innovative marketing, build and nurture a clientele database, enjoy a happy team. Understand the industry, ensure ongoing support, tips, advice, support, networking, recruitment, and guidance.
Secure your future, your time, your career, your hobby…. YOU.
Open those crackers, BANG, jump into the new year (when carefully, it’s cold and dangerous out there), invest in you.
See the vision, and then be the vision.
No new year resolutions required, you follow your passion, and your needs to be the best version of you!!
Happy new year everyone, Love Samantha x
